                 The Labour Court, Dibrugarh was constituted under notification noGLR. 435/6I/209 dated 22nd July 1966 in the Assam gazette, August 17th 1966. Md. Abdul Hasant Ahmed was the first Presiding Officer of Labour Court in the District of Dibrugarh and for the first three months the Hon’ble Presiding Officer started the Labour Court in his own residence at Graham Bazar Tinkunia in 1966. Then it was shifted to a rented house at Naliapool and at present it is accommodated in a rented house in Jiban Phukan Nagar from 2001. It has jurisdiction over 7 districts namely, Tinsukia, Dibrugarh, Sibsagar, Jorhat, Golaghat, Dhemaji, Lakhimpur.
